APG Cash Drawer is a division of UMI Company, Inc. (UMI), a privately held corporation. APG Cash Drawer manufactures a broad range of high-quality cash drawers and other related products with thousands of domestic and international customers. APG began in the early 1970's when two UMI employees designed and developed a steel cash drawer. In 1978 APG was formed as a separate company for the assembly, marketing, and sales of the cash drawer product line. At the end of the first year, APG had ten employees and leased a 7,000 square foot space in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. As the business grew, APG eventually expanded to 14,000 square feet at that location. In the fall of 1993, plans were made to move APG Cash Drawer and the Atlas Manufacturing painting facility, a sister company, into a 40,000 square foot building owned by the UMI Company, Inc. This facility has been expanded to 60,000 feet and is now dedicated solely to APG's manufacturing. During its history of over 25-years, APG Cash Drawer has built a reputation as the supplier of the most durable and dependable cash drawers in the industry. APG's products can be found in a variety of retail environments including fast food, hospitality, fine dining, gasoline service stations, mass merchandising, convenience stores, and general retail applications. |
